Which is a better converter for a street driven car ( I might take it to the track once or twice, but it's 99% street driven)? I was thinking of changing the rear gears to a 3.42 from a 3.15, if I can get a good deal on those. If not, I'll put in a converter that works with the 3.15 gears. Which are better converters, VI's, or Yanks, and which stall? I want one that doesn't feel real loose. I want to put a shift kit in too. Any thoughts on this?
The Yank 3000 stall with 2.2 STR works very well with 3.15 gears. The Vig. and Yank are both very good converters if you go with 3.42 gears the Vig. 2800 will work very well, if you go with Yank many guys on the forum go with the SY3500. Both combos with give a tremendous improvement over the stock converter.
The Yank 300 and the Pro Torque 2800 are probably the favorites with the 3.15's.. :yesnod: I wouldn't change the rear unless you go with 3.73 then the SY3500 would be the choice..The Transgo shift kit is a must with ANY combo!!
