Default Another Headlight issue - Headlight Module

My passenger headlight will not go up or down and I have been doing a ton of research on this issue. To get the typical questions out of the way- No there was/is no grinding - Yes I can manually raise the headlight - I have checked/replaced all headlight associated fuses. So my final stab at this was to replace the headlight motor as a whole. I picked up a used motor (that is functional) and prior to ripping the headlight apart to replace the motor, I tested it. It didn't work. So out of curiosity i plugged it into the drivers side headlight (new motor) and it worked as it should. So now will this mean my next step will be the headlight module or is there something I am missing? If it could be the headlight module can it be rebuilt or do you have to buy new from the dealer?

Thank you for the help!

Be sure to disconnect the battery before working on the Headlight Control Module. The headlights can move when you connect or disconnect the wire on the HCM. This thread by U M Rebel has instructions on how to make a homemade headlight control module.

I bought a new one last year from a dealer online. It ended up being a bad ground #102. Also check the splice pack 100 if you haven't already. I took the module apart but couldn't find anything wrong with it. A new one was around $500.

True......But I would inspect the ground anyway. I checked all of my grounds and all of the splice packs and I was pretty surprised at how much sand was in the splice packs and how many grounds were iffy. I like to be proactive rather than reactive. Just last week I found the terminal on the 12v orange wire to the trunk cd player that quit working. Ordered all new terminals to install when the cd player comes back from Doctor Don's with a design upgrade.

Default Very good question!

I asked Don that question before I sent my CD unit out. His response, without revealing any trade secrets had to do with the mechanism that holds the disk into location, material that it is made out of and the presence of friction at metal to metal contacts that wears the metal down. After he did the repair I asked what specifically was found in my unit. His response included damages common to disk stacking and removal of disks that get stacked during the failure, and of course the need for the upgrade in design. There is a very high emphasis on mounting the unit horizontal. I am fabricating that mount today.

Here is one:

Also, pretty sure I have one I would part with. I do not remember if it works, but I can test it before sending it out. PM if interested.

Some have been caught warped enough to let moisture get in. The board itself is rather basic, but it does have two transistors and a dpdt relay that can go. My guess is one of your transistors is bleh.
