Default Tech 2 question

Is it worth it to pick a clone Tech 2 for a C5? I know they are used extensively for the C6 and C7.

Tech2 was developed for the 1997 and later model years. The best scanner, there are counterfeits out there. You also want to make sure you have a updated GM card.

I bought the Tech 2 (clone, works great) for my C5 (99) just for the Automated Bleed so I could completely flush the brake system particularly for the EBCM !!! Have since used the crap out of it, ECM/PCM re-learn, crank sensor re-learn etc !!!!

Agree. Also use mine to exercise my ABS motor every 3 months.

My Tech 2 will be here next week. First thing I'm going to do is bleed the brakes and exercise the system. No problems yet but just want to do it.
I expect a huge learning curve figuring out how to use it but there are a ton of resources online.
I plan on keeping my 03 vert until it can't be fixed so I wanted a Tech 2.
I bought a clone from China and paid $299 and free shipping. Takes about 7 days for it to come from Hong Kong.

there very easy to use,just follow the display,and look around till you get tired,,and try reading ''live data'' as much as you can,it speeds up the learning curve,,and try it on as many GM cars/trucks as you can too

I ordered it from chinacardiags.com or something like that online.

I just got it in last night. I opened the box and was surprised at how big the scan tool was. There were no instructions with it just 3 dvd's. I found the dvd that had the user files on it.
I do plan on printing out the user manual and have a notebook with notes to help me remember stuff. I am old and the memory is not so good.
I can't mess around with it for a few days now but when I get time I plan on trying to figure it out.
I will post some of the things I learn. Being a novice with a Tech 2 I am sure I will make some of the members laugh.

I've seen some manuals and some hashed posts with some guidance on what can be done with them.

I'd love it if someone had the knowledge to put together a guide which told us the functions we can do on the car and how.

Cycle ABS:

X-> Y -> Z

Re-Learn Crank Position Sensor:
A -> B -> C

etc.

I had bought mine specifically to get rid of a recurring code regarding F45 suspension which had been removed. The code caused the pcm to limit speed to 80mph. Not sure quite what else I can do with this tool.
