Default PCV / Main Seal Issue

Hey guya/gals,

So I'm experiencing a problem with my.frrsh built LS1.

Engine was built this year new hone, rings, bearings, gaskets, and aftermarket stuff. Made 425hp/400tq.

I now have what I believe is a front main leak. I can't seem to make it leak at low rpm or idle. So I can't see where it's leaking from for sure, but I've smeared right stuff all over the front oil pan gasket area and it didn't change anything, so I'm assuming it's the front main, which is brand new.

I'm concerned it might be a PCV issue, where it only seems to leak when I'm out driving it, and it's not pouring oil it, it's a small leak that makes a big mess after a drive.

Debating options to help PCV system. Any suggestions?

If it is the front main seal leaking...the seal maybe it's not aligned correctly. I had the same problem after cam install. I bought a Sac City Corvette alignment tool which fixed the problem.

with the above post. If you did not use alignment tools that could definitely be the problem.

The PCV system could cause a leak if the tubing is cracked or the grommets cracked or deteriorated.

Also a excessive build up of crankcase pressure pushing oil past the seals.

Good luck finding the problem.

picture or describe the pcv hose layout. if the hose is unrestricted from passenger cover on out, then is not likely it is a ccv problem but would not hurt to have a closer look

To check the PCV run the engine a bit then remove the oil filler cap. If you hear a "whoosh" of air that means there is air pressure in the crankcase that would force oil out past your seals.
