Default 99 Blower motor replacement

99 with auto climate control blower motor replacement. Not sure about fasteners that hold in the plastic cover over the motor. How are they removed?

There are only 3 screw holding motor. One screw is in tight place behind motor but its not really bad job to change. Maybe 30 mins job if drinking beer same time.

The plastic cover over the blower motor are held in by push pins no screws.

This thread might help.

Just curious, but why do you think you need a new blower motor?

I only asked because the early C5's were noted for having the blower control module (or resistor) go bad. This would normally affect the operation by only working on 1 or 2 speeds.

You might also find when you remove the blower motor that the fan has gotten some debris in it that is causing it to make a racket, so check the blower case for any loose debris. Also check the motor for evidence of corrosion. When the HVAC drains (udders) get plugged, the condensation has no place to go, so it fills the HVAC case and then overflows onto the blower motor (and through it) and drains into the passenger foot well. If the blower motor does show evidence of water damage, by all means check that the udders (along the firewall in the engine compartment) are not plugged.

Good luck and thanks for helping another Corvette friend.

Best regards.
