Strange voltage drops
After some troubleshooting I have determined that I need to replace the alternator on my C5. My question is will a factory replacement be able to handle the audio system I currently have installed or do I really need to install a high output version of the alternator for this setup?
Pioneer 6800BT headunit
Pioneer 6.5" door speakers
Memphis Audio 12" Sub shallow mount (250w RMS) 400 peak
Kenwood K-9106D 2000w 1400-1600w RMS
6000K 9006 35w ballasts HID's for low beams.
I may add one more small amp to the front stage (200w RMS) or I may just switch the whole setup to a single 5 channel amp with less watts overall (500-700 RMS) to control everything, but it won't be anything more than that since my 1 12" shallow is more than enough bass and all it can take is 400w.
What is the recommended alternator amperage a z06 comes with from the factory?
if it is actually a voltage regulator instead can it be replaced seperately or is that built into the alternator itself?
