Need ABS Computer and Installation
Hello,
I have to find an ABS and traction control computer for a 1999 C5 convertible. Apparently Chevrolet no longer makes this part (no surprise there). Can someone please let me know how I may go about finding this part and then someone to install it? Also, does anyone have an thoughts on the cost of this repair? I have been told not having this working would be very problematic when driving, especially in the rain where hydroplaning may be an issue. Thank you so much for any responses.

Thank you and you’re amazing. I knew I came to the right place. The fact is this a car I am interested in purchasing from a private owner. Apparently a mechanic diagnosed this problem and therefore I would have to dig a little deeper, maybe even talking to their mechanic if possible to get the specifics you mentioned. I don’t know if this is a deal breaker for me or not. It’s a matter of cost, time and effort and what the value of this repair is to my purchase of the car in terms of a reduction in price and also my ability to even get this done (since as you say parts are becoming scarce for this car). And what is the major concern for not repairing this? Is it a serious safety hazard. I just don’t know.

There are companies out there that repair the modules. I have no knowledge of their success rate.
