I have a 99 c5 with a wet 150 hp shot nitrous system and some other small mods. But I have a problem, when dragracing I have some serious gripproblems so I am thinking of running real Mickey/Thompson or Hoosier tires on the rear next season.
What do you guys recommend ??? What dimensions can I fit on 16" rims without having to do any mods in the "wheelhouse" (sorry my english is not too god...).
I run the Hoosier 28x10 slicks, and they work great! They are on a 16" wheel, and have no clearance problems. They are a pretty tall tire though, you have to make sure you have the rear of your car raised up with the adjuster bolts, so you dont hit the rear quarters when the car squats down on launch. I run 13psi in mine, and have 1.49 60' times.Hope that helps!
The BFG drag radial are not really hooking for me anymore, since I got the car tuned. I am looking into acquiring some M/T ET Streets and some 86 Corvette wheels.
