Something doesn't make sense. I bought my 02 vert with the 2.73 rear end (no 3.15's were available at the time), made four runs down the drag strip after about 5000 miles was on the car, ran 13.6 - 13.7 at 103 mph. So I find a 3.15 at a good deal and have it installed. Computer re-programmed to shift correctly. After 2000 more miles get a chance to run again (at night this time) and times were worse (13.65 - 14.0 @ 98 - 102 mph). Now I can't figure out whats going on. Could it be the night runs with the humidity higher (less O2) be the cause or is the computer programmed wrong. Any help is appreciated.
Bob,
At the track Saturday my times were .35 seconds slower than the same track in February. I have the A4 with 2.73 rear end and when I remembered to disable traction contol my times were fairly consistent. :)
Laddie mentioned his times were .3 seconds slower also, so I think the major factor in my difference was the weather since the car is still stock.
Richard
Thanks Richard, I sent you an email. I heard from others at the same track Sat night that their times were off by .3 to .4, so that makes me feel a little better. Looks like those humid Louisiana nights aren't too good for power on a vette.
