I'm trying hard not to get an export "300 mph" dash unit, will it is a losing battle. My question is ... is there anyway to set the unit up so that it reads MPH by default? Oh, here is another question ... can the oil pressure and temperature guages be changed out with the U.S. unit ? Thanks in advance.
On mine the units are user selected and remain until they are selected again or the battery is disconnected. Metric is the default after the battery is reconnected.
I think, but have not verified, that the fuel efficiency is in Miles/US gallon. I get about 30 Highway MPG.
I would suspect that the gauges wont care which dash they are in, the angular rotation of the needle will be the same in both cars providing an equivalent reading.
I got to ask the dumb question, Is there a reason why you would want to clock over 200MPH ?
No such thing as a dumb question, only dumb answers.
I go to a lot of car shows and always the first thing kids look at is the speedometer. "Wow, 200 mph !!" I just think it would be cool to hear "Wow, 300 mph ... no way !!!!!!!!"

OK, do you have an export unit yet? The real answer is that it SHOULD stay in US if you set it there, but on some clusters, this feature is broken. If you have this problem, get a different cluster. The gauge faces can be changed (just did mine), but plan on spending some serious time for recalibration while the car is running and warmed up. You'll have to pull the needles, then peel the black overlays (they're taped in). Put the new ones in (they're keyed for fitment) and put the needles back on. You'll have to pull them on/off several times to get the reading right...best not done if you're not comfortable with messing them up...
