Other information could help members give you better advice.
If you identify your location (or general location), members may be able to refer you to a good local transmission shop.
Any mods to the drive train? High stall convertor, change out of differential, etc?
Two forum vendors who provide great transmission, and differential work are RPM http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/; and RKT56 http://rktperformance.com/. You can check their websites for pricing info as well as options to make the drive train even stronger.
Best wishes with your fix.
Point of clarification (just for your own knowledge), the transmission and differential are separate but adjacent items in your vette. The use of transaxle would really bunch it all together for the sake of discussion and can be misleading.
Anyways....RPM and RKT are both awesome if you need something above stock power levels. Keep in mind that may also come with above stock price points. If you are running a stock setup and don't intend to pursue big power, you can likely be ok with a rebuild from a good local shop. If you go that route, I would strongly suggest you consider a few key upgrade items to put in such as upgraded clutch packs and an upgraded sun shell (the neck on this part is a known weak spot in the 4l60E).
Best of luck!
