A4 Shifting Question
Does it hurt the transmission to run around town in 2nd and shift to 3rd and 4th on freeway on ramps? or am I putting excessive wear and tear on the unit... :cheers:

No problems, My tranny shop buddy says frequent downshifts with the A4 to de-celerate can accellerate wear but I have 50k of doing what you describe on mine with no problems. :cheers:

I wouldn't put much faith in the stock transmission..They are not very strong and the 3-4 clutches are the first to go. After I rebuilt my trans(pics on my home page) with the Transgo shift kit..never a problem and quick shifts..up and down!!:yesnod:
