Ecbm grey retainer clip

Ecbm grey retainer clip
Just reinstalled m y repaired ECBM from ABSFixer. I forgot to put the Grey retainer Clip back on.. I did put a ty rap through the harness assembly. Is this part necessary? I don't want to take it off again to install the clip.. Any pictures on how to reach this clip??

I would think that a zip tie would be more than enough to keep the ECBM plugged in. I lost one of the clips on a headlight plug once. A friend who works at the local Chev dealer said the clips really aren't necessary. I taped it until the clip showed up a few weeks later wedged into the space between the splash pan and front fender.
