Ok, please forgive my newness. Just got my Vette a couple weeks ago. It's an 01 Lingenfelter with a Magnuson blower. I've not had a bit of trouble with it until last night. Went out to a local cruise event. When I got it out of the garage I got a "charging system fault , turn off wait 10 sec and restart" I did as instructed car ran fine.Leaving the cruise I got the same message, once cleared I also got an "active control warming up" message. this went away after a couple seconds. Once again car ran fine all the way home. Put in garage, covered, went out this morning and she's DEAD. Battery is good, disconnected battery connections are good and clean. When I said dead I mean not a single light, locks, ANYTHING. Have checked the grounds on the front rails, alternator connections, starter was a bear to get to but wires were good as far as I could tell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
load test battery first
batteries can have voltage but as soon as you put a load on them voltage can drop to almost nothing
then at least you know the battery is good or bad
I agree. Get the battery load tested. Also check to see if any of your interior lights where left on. The courtesy, glove box and visors. The active handling message will happen if you start to drive and are going slow turning like in a parking garage. Has to be going straight for the sensors to set.
Well after checking fuses, checking grounds, checking wiring she's back up and running. So the good news is she's runnin the bad news is I'm not sure what I did to fix it.
For the car to be completely dead, you had to have a poor battery connection. The battery terminals need to be properly torqued to make the proper connection. The plastic RED AND BLACK covers on the battery cable ends can also deform and get pinched between the battery terminal and the cable connection. Take a look at that and if required trim any cover that could get pinched between the connection. Make sure that you have proper torque on the 8mm battery cable bolt (11 ft/lbs)
Also take a look at the B+ terminal on the UNDER HOOD FUSE BOX. Make sure that the TWO battery wires on that terminal are clean and tight. One goes to the Passengers foot well fuse box and the other is from the battery and powers both fuse boxes.

Probably not your problem, but don't ever turn and leave your dash light control **** turned past the click, all the way clockwise - to the right.
That will drain a battery pretty quick. Don't ask me why I know!
