How can I determine the axel ratio on my 2000 C5?

You should have a tag on the rear fill bolt that states it. I found mine when I replaced the rear oil

 

Will look. should have mentioned manual trans if it makes a difference.

Then 3.42 (only axle ratio offered for all manual tranny C5's) unless a PO changed it (unlikely).

One thing you can do is locate your RPO Code Label. Based on production year, it may be in 3 different locations.
First, the rear cargo covers, usually the right one, on the underside.
Under the center console lid, or on the inside of the glove box door.

It looks like this.

Match your codes on the label with the list from the link above and that will tell you what your car is equipped with.

Weird. I just took a photo of my RPR codes from glove box sticker and was matching them with the list and found 8 codes from sticker that aren't on the RPO code list. They are: BGR, DL5, NC1, UV6, VG6, VG8, YF5, and 1SA. Any idea where I might find/search for a list that might have them? I tried googling and got a couple of sites that had the list but none had the above mentioned codes. I did find that it does have the 3.42 gears as another member had said that it would which was my original question.
The car is a 2000 c5 vert. with manual.

1SA is the base car with no options. Base car included the following:

1SA Corvette Base Equipment Group. Includes standard bucket seats and 4 speed automatic. 1997-2000 models included Delco Cassette radio. 2001-2002 models included Delco CD radio, 6 way power drivers seat and Active Handling. 2003-2004 models added dual zone electronic A/C. All model years included leather seats. No cost.

Thats kind of what I was trying to figure out and the reason for my original question, I still consider myself kind of a rookie as I've only been driving (and lovin) my ride for a couple of years. But the way I see it is that the higher the gear ratio number the lower the gearing = faster off the line with less engine effort but sacrifice high end gas mileage at high end because of lower gearing. But mine turns barely above idle speed at freeway speed in 6th gear and gets like 28 mi per gallon.
NOT SURE. Someone who knows will correct me if I'm wrong i'm pretty sure.

Hey heres a little known fun fact (or maybe not) I read somewhere that GM actually put the build sheet for each corvette (c5 anyway) in the hydro formed frame rail in the left side forward section of the frame, somewhere.
On the premise that someday when/if they ever became collectible restorers would have the original specs to work from.
Anyone ever heard of that or maybe BS?

 

Dont know about the collectible part but it is true. If you do some research you will actually see the document sheet that a few forum members posted in the past.

Give em oh 30 years or so maybe collectible. Mines 18 at this point and running like new with less than 31k. Doubt I'll still be rolling through the the gears at the 30 year point, But you never know.
