Default Poly Control Arm Bushing Sleeve too Big??

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. This forum has been so valuable to me over the years, so first I just want to thank everyone for all the great info. A few years ago I purchased a complete poly control arm bushing kit with steel sleeves off eBay for my '00 base C5. I never got around to installing the bushings until now. I'm currently finishing up replacing the harmonic balancer / front seal, and I thought while the front cradle and suspension is out of the car, I should go ahead and install the bushings. I ran into an issue though, and after doing many hours of research, I haven't been able to find really any info on this. So, I've decided to create a thread. The issue is that the steel sleeves for the lower control arm bushings have a hole that is too large for the stock camber bolt/adjuster. I've attached an image with the old bushing and new bushing next to one-another which clearly illustrates the problem. More than anything, I just want to know why this is the case. Are these sleeves meant to be used with an aftermarket camber kit with bigger bolts? Is this kit for a Z06, and does the Z06 have bigger camber adjusters? I'm really at a loss here. Thanks in advance for your help.

To my knowledge all the bolt sleeves are the same inner diameter. But you do need the outside washers, so maybe you are suppose to reuse the washers which is an interference fit into the sleeve. Take the stock sleeve apart and compare.

Interesting.. Any Idea on how to separate the old washers? Or, better yet, where I can buy new washers? Thanks.

I just replaced mine and you have to reuse the washers, they are just pressed in from the factory. Use a flat punch and knock it out through the opposite side.

Below is what it looks like once knocked out
