Ok dumb question: I have gotten the dreaded brake control code.... but I have figured out just why but can't without a doubt figure out how to remedy the problem. The problem is I have a semi bad connection at the electrical connection to the module. I have done searches and have found out how to remove the module itself, but I guess I'm not smart enough to figure out the correct way to remove the connector to clean it. There is a white "keeper" on it that you can cut and replace with a small zip tie, and there is a gray "handle" on the "connector" that has something to do with it but I don't want to break anything so if I "wiggle" the connector the code does't return for a while. Alright my question is... How do you unplug the connector without breaking something? Thanks for the advice and sorry for the long post!!

Your question seems a little vague but am I to assume you are referring to the weather pack connector to the EBCM ?
Maybe you can post a picture of the connector in question.

Thanks Lou.

The late model has a CAM LOCK connector. You don't have to CUT the safety/security lock. You can press it out and reuse it.

Once the lock is out, just pull on the lever and the lever will retract the connector.

To reinstall, put the connector back into the module straight and level and close the cam lock. The cam lock will reinsert the connector back into the module.

Easy as that. I would put some dielectric grease on the connector RUBBER SEAL ONLY,, to help keep moisture out of the connector. DO NOT put it in the connector pins!

Thanks to all who replied as I thought that the connector lever had something to do with the removal of the fitting. Yeah I should have said a 2002 vert but neglected it Again thanks
