I didn't take any pics but it's a pretty straightforward job and can be done without removing any parts from the car... you can use a flathead screwdriver to pry the top of the vent off and the base of the vent that is pressed into the diff case has just enough of a lip on it to use a small ziptie to hold the new hose... this was the most difficult part for me because the hose kept popping off, what I did was put a ziptie on the hose first and tighten it just enough so it wouldn't fall off then slide the hose on the vent tube and while holding it I used my other hand to pull the ziptie tight... then just install your new vent in the other end of the hose and find a place to ziptie it down, clean it all up, and go make a few hard runs and see what happens

As others have said it is a common problem and it is possible that the onset preceded you noticing it. I had it too and got away with just the axle seals, never bothered with o rings.

Its worth just reaching up there and jiggling the vent cap while its up, that might be all it takes.

If it's like every other GM diff vent they're a dime a dozen, just slap a new one on. Could be that it's gone or blew the lid off. Mine simply flew out of my Camaro and then started reeking at the track one day. Popped one in back in 2014 and good to go to this day. I do carry a spare though.
