I have a 1999 C5 corvette convertible. After installing a FMC5 module in BCM to fix stalling issue. I now get a message, asking to remove key and wait 10 seconds. It will stall if you do not comply. Not sure what to do next. Have gotten quite a few answers to this problem. Which makes it quite confusing. I thought Dealer would fix, since it was part of a recall back in 2004. There response was. Nothing last forever. It was man made. Really caught me off guard with that answer.

Brown wire mod needed I'd say. Call Richard if unsure, but YouTube has videos clearly showing this.

Like above mentioned, did you/they do that brown wire mod? that needs to be done that is included with the kit. I have a 99 as well and needed to do the brown wire mod even though the directions say many will not need to do it.

If one of the LMC5 wires terminals is inerted in to the connector 180 deg out, it will also cause this problem. Ask me how I know.

In the brown wire mod portion you are actually replacing a green wire in the wiring harness if memory serves me correctly and in my 97 there wasn't a green wire, but I tried installing it in the correct slot anyway, but didn't work. When I get some time I will try it again and reset the computer systems as mentioned above. My 944 Turbo is an early 86 and has some things from first generation 944 and some from the second, I fear that the 97 corvette may have some quirkiness to itself as well and has some differences from later models. Of course a previous owner could have removed that green wire as well. I would just like to figure it out and fix it! LOL
