Fuel Pump issue/question
I have a 2004 corvette convertible with 62000 miles on it and it appears as though i need to replace my second fuel pump. First replacement was due to failure to hold fuel pressure so I replaced it with a Bosch pump assembly. Now it seems that the pump assembly is leaking somewhere at the top. I have seen some have had problems with the white plastic getting hairline cracks and spraying/leaking from there. I believe I have the same issue. Also, while inspecting the underside I noticed staining and fuel on the connection of the stainless steel crossover pipe to the driver side tank. My first question is whether one pump manufacturer is any better than the next. There are several such as AC delco, Airtex, Delphi, Carter etc. Has anyone had good or bad luck with any of these? Second question are thew o-rings for the crossover pipe and fuel lines inside of it dealer only? I cant seem to locate them anywhere. Additionally, I know there was a silent recall type of letter that went out for the crossover failure but don't know what the exact failure is. Any info on any of this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
