Default Removing O2 Sensors

As I mentioned in a previous thread I intended to replace the sensors which have many miles and are a few years old. I bought Bosch sensors but that is not the issue. I can't get the old ones out. I bought one of those O2 removing tools that you can use on a breaker bar but it is actually bending open so it won't grip properly. I bought the tool at Advance, I'm sure there must be better ones but on a Sunday I think my options to get a better one might be limited. I am leery of using heat on the exhaust lying on my back. Is WD-40 going to accomplish anything? I'd prefer not cut the wires in case I have to drive the car to have someone else get them out. I was hoping to get my car retuned tomorrow, doesn't look like that will happen. BTW, I have LG meaders which are stainless which I thought maybe wouldn't fuse themselves to the sensors. Any suggestions so maybe I can finish this tonight.

If you’re trying to remove them while the exhaust was cold try running the engine for 10-15 minutes and then try to remove them !!

strange that tool is flexing that much, it's basically like a flare nut wrench... do you have a 22mm box end wrench?... you can unplug the connector and see if it will fit through the box end, if it won't it's pretty easy to take the pins out of the connector if you don't want to cut them

I went back at it and sprayed the threads with penetrating oil. Then started the car to check the oil change I did at the same time. Let it run for a few minutes and I was able to remove them. Hooray!
