Code P1221, over a month ago, I'm in the Island of Puerto Rico C-5 in Central Florida. Is it a difficult r&r? Do I have to do any reprogramming? Getting ready to order the part for when I get back. Depending on how long my dad needs me here, thoughts of letting her go after 12 years. Thank you

Easy job...2 torx screws and a connector...no programming...stick with OEM !!...around 80-90 dollars...I would look at wiring first....you can check sensor with DVOM but if you want to just change it go for it !!

I agree to check the wiring and pins in the connector before ordering parts... make sure none of them are spread open like in this pic, it happened to me and the car would go into rep mode during hard wot pulls... tightened that pin back up and all is well
Look at the wiring like I and others have suggested first. If you have a DVOM and want to check the sensor and are unsure on how to do it let me know and I can run you through the procedure !!
I agree... Check the female pins on the connector for bent spread pins and the wires and wiring harness alllll the way back to the rear of the engine where it goes into the main harness. There are a couple of well known harness PINCH SPOTS. Look for a damaged harness and wires inside the harness.
If all checks out, just replace the sensor. TWO SCREW
