Default Ls6 intake

I want to upgrade my intake from 97 C5 to LS6 intake. What benefits will i gain if I do? I will eventually want to swap out the heads to 799/243, headers, possibly cam it(mild cam for daily driver minus winter) down the road.

What is going price for used LS6 intake? I found one for $275.00 , is this good price?

Will this intake bolt direct to my car w/o any modifications and can I reuse my old bolts and throttle body?

Reports are that you can expect 5 to 15 HP from just the manifold, more with better heads and cam -- i.e. the manifold will make the heads/cam more effective. Now-a-days, $275 is a steal.

Your gonna have to knock the ribs off the bottom of the LS6 manifold. That way you can keep your coolant cross over tube under your currant manifold

Yes exactly what smoken said, you have to knock off the ribs underneath, super easy with a little chisel.

Thanks guys! If I get the throttle body on the LS6 intake- Is LS6 throttle body better than my existing one?

I just recently paid 325 for one that wasn't all beat to **** and cracked.

That's a smokin price if in perfect condition.

It is hour or little over hour drive but i'll def. get it. thanks guys. Good to know if i just grind down the bottom ribs flat I don't have to modify the coolant pipes and it will just bolt right up w/o coolant pipe modification.
