Hi all,
I need help. My turn signals will stop working without notice. I found in my trouble shooting that if I turn on my hazard lights and let them run a while, the turn signals will start working again. My thought was a failing signal flasher going bad, but my manual doesn't show one. One hint I can give is when they don't work, there is no flasher noise. But let the hazards run, they work for a day, maybe two.
Any ideas?

The hazard switch is the flasher. This is a fairly common problem and there are several options to fix it. All of them involve replacing the switch with either oem or aftermarket devices. Google it.

Yes, that's exactly what's probably wrong. In a C5 the turn signal and hazard functions are provided by the hazard switch.
You can replace the hazard switch, but a hyperflash harness should fix your problem and is easier to install. As an added bonus, it will allow you to install LEDs in the future with no hyperflashing.
A hyperflash harness replaces the portion of the hazard switch that handles the turn signals with a flasher that's LED friendly. Hazards will still hyperflash because that function remains untouched in the OEM hazard switch.
Checkthis one out. It's completely plug-and-play: no splicing or anything.

Thanks all. I guess that's why I couldn't find it in the manual. And I'm sure it's fun to get out. I'll google it later. I still have to rip the center dash out to fix the heater control that went dark. Sounds like a winter project.

It really doesn’t take too long to replace.
The fun factor is relative to how skinny your arms are.
you’ll have to take out all console trim from the armrest forward, the HVAC control and the radio.
THats the easy part.
Reaching the switch and compressing the release clips is the hard part.
I ordered the part today. As far as the skinny arms, not so lucky. I used to repack and certify aircraft life rafts. It's been a few years, but still have forearms like Popeye.
I seem to recall there is an alternate method of getting to the switch that may give you a bit more arm room - gotta take out the piece that covers the bottom of the steering wheel, ( same piece to take out to install the hyper-flash harness) I didn’t go there because I already had familiarity with taking the console out. Might want to verify my recollection - there’s at least one how-to thread around here.
