C5 drivers door latch won't open
Hi,
i am a new owner with about 6 months under my belt. My drivers side door will not open when using the outside door handle. I can lock and unlock with the key and the fob, but when pulling the outside handle nothing happens. For several days i was using the inside handle and today it stopped working. I see many threads about locking qnd unlocking but that isn't the issue. It's that the latch is not releasing when using either handle. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

pull the door panel, I suspect you have a disconnected actuator rods

you will have to peel back the black rubber stuff to see what you are dealing with...there are some diagrams online but nothing up close that I have found

once you get in there you will at least be able to see what is and isn't working....its a pretty simple setup but hard to explain until you are looking at it

I tried the door handles today. The exterior still does not function, but the interior did! I'll take off the door panel this week and take a look as you suggested. If the handle to the latch is mehanical i dont see how its itermittent. Glad it worked though...
