For problems like this the best thing to do is post the codes on the DTC, do a search on this site and you will find out how to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes.

I was to quick to suggest pulling codes and posting them to find the cause of your CEL "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT", you can disconnect the positive battery cable for say half hour and reconnect to see if that will clear your CEL. A one time fault condition will trigger the CEL and it will take many run/stop cycles to clear, if the CEL is still on after power reset, you can take your car to most local auto parts stores and they can tell you what is causing your CEL, or you can retrieve the codes yourself and post them here on the forum.

Always disconnect the negative terminal first, otherwise you can risk creating a short circuit if while disconnecting the positive terminal your wrench touches a grounded part. A short circuit can cause damage and/or personal injury.
