Default LED fast flash question

My research indicates using led bulbs require a low draw of power, sending a false reading of a dead bulb. This causes the hyper flash or (fast flash) when using turn signals. Now, I got all my DRL’s working now and all the bulbs are good. But still getting the fast flash. Is the hyper flash add on the fix for this problem ? What’s it entail ?

That is correct, and that problem is fixed installing a hyperflash harness.

In a C5 the turn signal and hazard functions are provided by the hazard switch. A hyperflash harness replaces the portion that handles the turn signals with a flasher that's LED friendly. Hazards will still hyperflash because that function remains untouched in the OEM hazard switch.

Check this one out. It's completely plug-and-play: no splicing or anything.

FYI, the hazards will still hyper flash even with the harness installed.

Weird. Post back after you install the hyper flash and let me know if your hazards stay regular.

Default Is this the type I need ?

Where do you plug these in at ? Is the hazard switch the only relay for the flasher ? Is there one in the footwell that I can change for a hyper flash ?

No, those are resistors and they are not the best solution (they create their own set of problems usually from the extreme amount of heat they generate).

Another disadvantage of resistors is that multiple ones are required (if you install LEDs in the tail lights in addition to the front ones, you would need a minimum of 4 resistors), while only 1 hyperflash harness is needed.

The most efficient way to solve LED hyperflashing is by installing a plug-and-play hyperflash harness. I gave you a link in my previous post to one of the many available sources.

Yes. The hazard switch performs double duty as flasher for the turn signals and as flasher for the hazard lights.

No

It's fast and simple. You just need to remove the driver's knee bolster to have better access. The connectors you need to separate from each other, in order to insert the hyperflash harness in-between, are right there by the steering column.

Im guessing there’s only 1 harness with that style plug inside the panel. And that’s where I put the hyper flash in between ?

Depends on what you have for your LED taillights. The halo LED taillights have resistors built into them already, and won't cause the hazard to hyperflash. Obviously LED bulbs in the taillights won't have resistors and will hyperflash. Same with the RV LED taillights.

My tail lights. Got them from a member here. Weren’t in the best shape but they worked. If they have a resistor inside of them I hadn’t noticed.

Connectors should be directly below the ignition key switch:
