I found one old post on this code but no resolution seen....
Working on a client car that he just purchased so no history.
Here are some diagnostic facts:
1) Horn WORKS fine from the steering wheel.
2) BCM can NOT honk the horn (TPMS learn, alarm, unlock/lock etc.)
3) I've located the correct pin on BCM, Connector 1 (small pink), pin B10, Black wire. Battery unhooked, check continuity to underhood fuse horn relay pin... zip nada nothing.
4) Confirmed steering wheel horn button DOES ground to the underhood fuse box relay pin. as in continuity to ground when steering wheel horn membrane pressed.
My next step will be to pull the battery tray & see if a leaking battery from past has destroyed some wiring... Hoping I DON'T have to pull underhood fuse box apart....
Anyone else had any experience with this wiring circuit #28
For anyone that cares.... wiring harness from body to underhood fuse box already had several (5 or 6) splice repairs completed, most likely from battery acid from the looks of things. However, they missed one much further down the harness which was circuit #28 from the BCM to horn relay.... I used my old trusty bell phone wire trace unit to spot the point where the signal stopped in the harness. Solder & shirk wrap, all back to "normal"...
