Default weatherstrip repair

I posted this on C5 general but think tech is a better location. My weatherstripping at the bottom of my driver door has become detached at a single location. Is it possible to get a new retainer and reattach this point without replacing the entire strip?

There is a series of holes along the bottom of the W/S. Small "T" shaped retainers fit into those holes and snap into the corresponding holes in the bottom of the door.
Take a look to see if the T shaped clip is still in the door. If so use a small pair of needle nose pliers and gently pull the clip out. Work the horizontal portion of the T back into the hole of the W/S and then snap it back into place on the door.
Unfortunately you cannot buy those T shaped clips. If your's is missing you might want to contact Marc over at Vettenuts and see if he can supply you one or two from a wreck.

Thanks for the reply. Its the clip thats broken. Its still l in the W/S but won't stay in hole in the door. Apparently the top of the clip that keeps it attached was broken off. I'll look at a local body shop before looking at a salvage shop.

Have you ever had one if those moments when your doing some kind of work and you say to yourself, maybe I should hold on to a couple of this old ones because ya never know ?
I replaced both of my door W/ S a few months ago and had a lot of those retainers that were still in good shape. I should have held on to several.....I could of helped you out.
