I can give you the step by step from the manual but that calls for removing the engine. I know that this can be done with the engine in the car. Let me know if no one else can help.
Re: Is there a Camshaft install FAQ doc? (Patches)
I had seen the F-Body ones. My big concern was that I heard you had to drop the motor down to get the crank pulley off. I was wondering if this was the case? Anything else that is differnet about doing a Vette over doing an F-Body.
Didn't drop the motor. I've heard you can just move the steering rack out of the way but I had to pull it out of the driver's side to get enough clearance. Not a problem if you have help. Some say you have to unbolt the crossmember and pry it down to get clearance to pull the rack but we did it without doing that by just rotating the rack until the steering box cleared everything.
Other than that, very similar to the f-body. It's mostly the accessories that are a bit different but it's obvious when you look in the engine bay that they are minor differences.
I'm currently doing a C5 with MilesInMichigan right now. We are all the way down to removing the steering rack at this point. Is it me or is that step just a pain in the butt. I'm trying to figure out the best way to even get it out of the car! Any ideas would be helpful. After that I'll post a cam only install for a C5 with lots of pictures for you guys.
