It was sitting on the flange where the torque tube closeout plate bolts to. I've had the TT out a few times and i have probably 1K 1/4 mile passes on this thing so I cannot imagine how it could just stay there. It had to come from something that came out w/ the driveline when i dropped it from the bottom this week. It's not anything vital but i'm curious what it is exactly. I have no idea what has been going on on this site lately but I cannot upload photos. Well, they upload but are never attached.
It's the rubber snubber that goes on the bottom of your lower shifter box. The tang goes into a recess on the torque tube, and the recess fits onto a similar tab on the box.
Do I win something when I'm right?
It's to keep the shifter box from making noise inside the car where it touches the torque tube. If you have a race car, you'll never miss it. If you are going to throw it away, send it to me instead as I am looking for one.
