GHL's.....My favorite C5 exahust!

Sounds like you have a nice base to start modding! Welcome back to the C5 world.

They (GHL) were certainly darlings of the Corvette world back in the early to mid 2000's. I think something went terribly wrong, infighting in the company or something cuz ain't heard about them in a while and what I did hear was kinda a mess.

IMHO the car on the right looks awesome and you will have a great time with it. Tough to let left car go but not so bad when you have right car have fun with.

Well after a couple hundred miles in the C5, I don't think I'm going to miss the C7.

Another data point re: C5 vs C7 (I sense this is turning into a comparo thread instead of a build thread, lol)...
Since the C7 is essentially all electronic, all you need to do is push the start button and the car will crank until the motor starts. You don't need to push on the button until it starts. With the C5, you need to hold the key in the start position until the motor starts. I need to adapt my muscle memory for starting.

For a new head unit I went with a
Kenwood DDX9904S Kenwood DDX9904S
.

VetteNuts Double DIN console. JL Audio speakers. All getting installed Monday along with the remanufactured HVAC control panel.
Install is Monday afternoon.

Monday morning, my top guy Chris @ TexasAutoSpa, will take care of the engine bay cleaning & detailing.

And my wife is digging the new ride.

Glad your enjoying and thanks for the info on C7 v C5 seats. While we're still likely moving ahead with C7, wife is slightly concerned regarding the side bolstering on C7 seats. Had no issues w C5 bolstering but she still has residual memories of the narrow, highly bolstered seats in the 2016 WRX I had for a bit...as did everyone over the age of 20 who rode in that car.

Good thing they picked up C5 last week as whole area around here got whacked with snow yesterday and early this morning. Only about 6-8" here locally but C5 mighta had a tough go getting past small slope at end of drive.

:O Wish I could parley that kinda luck into a lottery ticket.

Here's our snow storm.

I almost did a Mustang today. Pulled out of a parking lot to get across 4 lanes of traffic. Ambient temp ~37*. Did a big ole drift all the way around back to the first lane. :O Stabili-trak not the same as a C7, lol.

TexasAutoSpa in Plano/Frisco area highly recommended! Engine bay now as sweet as the rest of the car. And those coil covers really pop now!

Back in 2004, 2005 or so there was a forum guy from OK who would paint 'em for $65 or so. Sent 'em off one winter and had it done.

Looks like you're moving right along with things...

Gonna order the C7 today....black, of course. Will go straight from dealer to Esoteric Detail for full STEK Dynoshield PPF wrap...should be interesting to say the least.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Especially after you hit the go pedal.

First major mod done, albeit with a little bit of headache.
I had installed a new headunit, a Kenwood eXeclon DDX9904S and JL Audio speakers, using a Vettenuts DD bezel/console. Many thanks to the cats in the Audio forum for the guidance.
I'd be happier than a pig in ..., but with that big rear hatch window, the glare is so dominate that it makes use of the large screen almost impossible to use. The screen does flip up almost horizontally, so I can actually see the screen without glare, although it's a little awkward. I'm hoping once I get the windows tinted, this issue will go away.

My three main requirements (using Android Auto)...
Spotify...

Waze...

Camera...

All in all, avery clean install.

Oh man...if I show my wife this I'm gonna get one of those "Why didn't you think of this?" looks.

Which makes me wonder "Why *didn't* I think of that?"

Oops...

Eh, you'll get it all in the C7 and without the glare problem.

As I think I understand this, you will have the C5 and a C7, is that correct?
