Does anyone make replacement rubber / vinyl sill "plates" for the C5 like the OEM ones?
I have found the stainless ones and such but just wanted to replace one missing one and the other torn one with the original type.
Actually I found ones for sale, I was searching for "sill plates" instead of "sill protectors".
I know I am poorer and cheaper than all the other Corvette owners on here but even the vinyl ones are $50 each. I would like to replace the bad ones on my car for less than $100.
Any material that could be cut to size & shape and put on with adhesive would work......any ideas?
If I were going to replace these I would go to my local parts store and buy a sheet of the ~$15 carbon fiber vinyl that they sell. Places like AutoZone and PepBoys sell the product and I believe it's made by a company called TrimBright (it's been a few years since I've bought it...). It comes in a 6 inch x 6 ft sheet has enough CF vinyl in it that you can shape it to fit both sills if you mirror and flip your cuts to the other side.
