I have been trying to access JR-Vette's link on actuator reindexing but the link must be broken. From what I've read here, it sounds like the real fix is to replace the HVAC controller in my '99 c5 with a 2001 or later controller, to fix the problem of the actuator being told to try to close the door to far. If this is right, can anyone tell me the correct part number for the 2001 or later controller?
Having the same problem for the second time in a year. This time not as bad. Not blowing strong on drivers side and temp not as cold as passenger side. Does not happen all the time. Last time had controller and actuator replaced. No problem with passenger side at all

I did this in my 99 C5, I just bought one from a forum member selling one from a 2001 Z06 with dual climate control, as long as its a 01 and up it has the board with the "logic" that fixes the issue. That being said I eventually pulled the dash and replaced both actuators a few years later. Its not as daunting as it seems.
oh yeah, don't overpay for a head unit, some people want waaaaaay to much for them
oh yeah, one more very important thing...make sure the new actuators work BEFORE you put that dash back together....you can plug the head unit in and turn the key to get everything running, run them through the various functions....didn't happen to me but my buddy had one of his techs do a new actuator install and put it back together to find out it didn't work,,,,he fixed it on his own time

Now you tell us this story? Just when my new to me dash is back in place? ;-)
