Hi all, just had the fluid changed in my MN6 to Mobil 1 ATF...one question...
owners manual states 4.1 qts...but mine only took 3.3 qts or so...is this normal or did I miss something ??? Any advice welcomed :D :D
Is this rather simple to do? Mine only has 18K miles on the clock but its a 97. I was looking to do this in the spring? Whats the cost? Any special tools required like a pump or anything?
Did mine a few weeks ago. I switched to Amsoil as well. It's easy but can get a bit messy if you're not careful.
One trick I discovered is when you go to drain it, loosen the plug but don't just pull it out all the way quickly. The fluid will drain out quickly and can make a mess. I loosened the plug and slowly unscrewed it until it was almost out. I then unscrewed it the last bit but held the plug against the drain hole letting it slowly drain out into a pan below. It was much neater that way.
You'll need a fluid transfer pump that you can pick up for a few bucks at your local parts store and four quarts of ATF.
