My dealer told me that my C5 Z06 throttle body has a problem and must be replaced. However GM stopped making a C5 throttle body. Any suggestions to what throttle body available in the market that would fit right in? The intake is the factory intake.
Does an LS2 throttle body fits? any aftermarket ones?

ls2 throttle body will fit if you have the intake to go along with it, the bolt pattern is different than the ls1/6 throttle body and you will also need an adapter harness or make the wiring changes yourself... what exactly is wrong with it that it has to be replaced?
You can try and locate a Cardone #673043 or Spectra TB1072 re-manufactured factory unit #17113669, though an auto-parts store or from RockAuto. Short of that as noted above look for a used 78mm LS6 unit in the forum classifieds.

If the Z06 and base TB's are the same, I have one for sale.
Next, they will tell you need a new engine!! You should easily be able to find a replacement. Check with VETTE NUTS (C5/C6 used parts bone yard dealer) He has just about anything you need for a C5 used... Good People!
What are the symptoms of your issue?? What DTCs is the PCM throwing?? You can read the DTCs from the drivers seat!
What "problem" did the dealer say is wrong with your TB ??..."Enquiring minds want to know" !!
YUP!!!!!!!!!! I SECOND that motion!!! There's really only FOUR parts to a TB. The Throttle Body housing, The throttle blade/shaft, the actuator motor and the Throttle Position Sensor. The Throttle Position Sensor is a replaceable part. That what usually goes bad.
Sometimes the TB & Throttle blade gets very dirty and it can and will effect idle quality.
SO, unless there's something really wrong with it, it usually easily repairable.
Ask them what DTCs they are getting!! That will tell you what's unhappy! If all else fails, take the car to Autozone and ask them to read the DTCs for the PCM. Post up what they tell you... Like I stated before, you can read the DTCs by your self from the front seat very easily without ANY special tools...

The problem which I was having is that while driving the car, it suddenly displays:
"Service Active Handling" followed by "Reduce Engine Power"... and then the car would slow down and I'd lose the throttle. After I stop, turn off the engine, and restart it... the car would drive back normal. But the issue would repeat randomly.
I can't see the codes now as the car is with the dealer now. The dealer said that after they read the codes, it's saying that there is a problem with the Throttle Body.
The explanation is enough for me to loose all confidence in that dealer.(IIMHO). The dealers explanation could just as easily be an electrical issue. Not enough information can lead to chasing rabbits.

same scenario happened to me when going wot and it was a loose female pin on the tps harness plug, easy fix in my case... if the same thing happened in your case then you will replace the tb and get the same problem lol... if it comes back on pull the codes and post them up here so we can tell you where to look
