Hi all,
A friend of mine gave me his Tech2 so I can disable my TPMS. When I get to the option the screen where it tells me the status of TPMS is blank and it won’t let me change it. I have the ignition on as it stated but the car is not on. Do I have to have the car running?
i don’t want to screw anything up. 2001 Auto. Thank you all.
yeah, pretty sure its one of those safety features you can't undo....car came with runflats and TPMS so yeah....you can either add the sensors to new wheels or do what I did for 10 years...ignore the ******* message
If you're at: Body > Remote Function Actuation > Special Functions > TPMS, then that's the right screen. The option is there on my '01. I wonder why yours isn't showing up.
(Protip for curious people: don't toggle it off if you really don't want to, because then you'll need to resync your TPMS sensors. Ask me how I know that now.)

That is exactly where I am. He didn’t give me the CANDi module because he said I don’t need it for the 2001 but maybe that is the reason. I don’t think it playing nice with the BCM.
There's no CAN, so you don't need it. What a weird issue.
I agree we were both trying for a while and still got the blank screen. The car has been in storage on a tender and hasn’t been started in 3mos. I ll wait until I get it out running and try again. Maybe the BCM needs to wake up🤷*♂️
Update. We swapped the software card with another one in the Tech2 and it worked. It was a corrupt software card. I can confirm you can turn TPMS on or off on an 01 and up. Thank you all for the input.
Today I was getting ready to use my Tech2 Clone and kept getting No CANDi connection, took off CANDi and opened it and SURPRISE here is what I got. The Tech2 its like 1 1/2 years old and haven't use it yet besides doing all checks when I got it when new. Bottom picture was when I opened the CANDi and the top one after I tried to clean it up. Seems like corrosion.
That could be corrosion, though considering the garbage quality of these knockoff parts, it may just be a manufacturing issue. Like, say, a bunch of crusty dried flux.
PS, did you use flux when re-flowing the solder?
Do yourself a favor and clean up the areas you reflowed with alcohol ... it'll make it obvious in the future if it corrodes or otherwise looks different than it is supposed to.
