Have you talked to the folks at Austin Corvette? They seem to be well thought of.
There was a guy from Austin on the Forum a few years back who ran a shop that specialized in Corvettes. He was mostly in the C3 Forum as I recall and was well respected. H was well versed in all years but seemed to like the C3's best. I think he became frustrated with some of the petty BS that comes with being on a forum and with a business to run, decided it wasn't worth the aggravation to participate. I wish I could recall his handle or the name of his shop but unfortunately can not.
