Had a p 1431 code set in the car, was told to change the fuel level gauge in the passenger tank. Now the gauge still cuts off after about 25 miles of driving no matter the fuel tank levels? I have been running techron with each tank? Next step?

A friend of mine had this alarm on his 2000 mod six months ago .
I removed the RH sensor from the tank , took the slipringparts apart (easy) on the sensor , cleaned the conctact set carefully with an eraser , checked the resistance with a DVOM 40 ohm empty tank and 250 ohm full tank and put it back in the tank with new sealing gasket . No more alarm
Was the car displaying the P1431 code or some other code. Several things can cause the sender to malfunction so there are several different codes that can be set.
Do not know about Doozie1 but my friends 2000 model also have issues with his LH sensor signal .
I know that wiring issues (shorts/corrosion) can cause similar alarms due to change in resistance in the wiring loop and should checked prior to sensor removal from the tank.
Here is the voltage signals shown from both fueltanks when both tanks are full on my friends 2000 model-.
They should both be reading apprrox. 2.5 volts buth LH sensors shows only 2.27 volts and I think this is why a P0461 (sensor 1 performance alarm ) is present .
The voltage on RH tank shall drop to a minimum before the RH signal start to drop .
If a resistance increase is taken place in the RH sensor loop due to unstable sensor/wiring resistance after the LH is starting to decrease (fuel level decreasing) I think you will get P0461 which my friends car have now.
