Lightest wheels for my base C-5?
I'm looking for some new/used wheels to road race with. Which wheels are lighter? The C-5 Z06 wheels or the C-5 Magnesium wheels?
I like both but prefer the Z06 wheels.
Thanks for your help,
Mark

Around;
17, 19 for the magnesium
19, 21 for the Z wheels
Consider that the Z wheels are an inch wider.

The OEM C5Z wheels are a great value for weight/strength/size/price. You would have to spend more to get less weight with the same strength and size.

The magnesium wheels are prone to hairline cracks as they age. Not sure I'd Use them in a race application.

Y2K thin spokes are not free of issues. As you get stickier rubber and faster, the more likely you'll run into problems with any wheel.

Many guys with the budget to run aftermarket wheels are winning races on the C5 Z06 wheels. If you get aftermarket wheels TSW Nurburings are the cheapest light weight wheel people track. Forgestar and CCW are favorites with club racers.
