Default Hud stopped working

CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS; I RECENTLY MADE SOME BEZEL MODIFICATIONS IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND SEALED IT BACK UP. I THEN STARTED TO RE-INSTALL THE INSTRUMENT BACK IN PLACE AND I WAS CHECKING PLUG CONNECTIONS AS I WAS TRYING TO REASSEMBLE THE DASH BOARD. (NOT RECOMMENDED, NIGHTMARE) I NOW NOTICE THAT MY HUD DISPLAY DID LIGHT UP. I RECHECKED CONNECTIONS THEY WERE OK HOWEVER I'M NOT SURE WHICH FUSE PERTAINS TO THE ELECTRICAL MAKE UP TO THE HUD; THIS IS A 2004 C5 CORVETTE AND DESPERATE AND PISSED OFF.

THANKS
JOHN

Confirm both the IPC connector is seated and the HUD connector at the top of the IPC is seated, thats the first step.

The HUD lights up but does not work? What exactly is the problem? Does the IP work? If not, see below:

If the IP is not working, the problem is likely due to the electrical connectors; they are a "single mate" style in that there is an interference fit between pin and contact; the pin forces the contact open. This makes for a nice solid electrical connection...ONCE! When the connector is un-mated, the contact remains in the expanded position; when re-mated the pin no longer makes a nice solid electrical connection.
I learned this when I repaired the HUD in my 2004.
It is fixable though, but requires to remove each contact to be removed from the connector body, bend it back to original position, re-insert into connector body.
Not overly difficult to do, very time consuming though and working in a back breaking position.
Just have to do one at a time or take the time to write down all the wire colors and positions....you do not want to make any changes here.
The HUD connector on the back top of the IP is a different "animal" though as this uses a ribbon cable and completely different style connector. Just need to check to make sure all pins are intact, none bent over or broken-off.

Good luck.

much thanks for your info; it is a very time consuming job; other than the Chevy Dealership , do you know who i could take the car to , so they could resole this problem ?
