Oliver, if they whine they were incorrectly built period! Send them back to whoever you bought em from and have them do them right. Has to be a warranty...Where did you get them?
Why should you take the financial hit because of someone elses incompetence...my 4.10's are quiet as a mouse up to 120mph so far..

Chuckster, they reason they whine is because I had the gears put in the carrier, then I had them dissassemble the carrier internals and put it back together again (old casing was bad so I bought a new one and swapped in the same internals)........
anytime you do that, the gears will not fall into the same exact meshing pattern and may produce a little whine on light load......nothing very bad, just mildly annoying......other than the noise, they run like a raped ape.....
