Curious to know were you got that it was a bad o2.......

I read it meant "MAF air flow intermitent."

This would indicate to me you have a problem with your MAF or maybe recently you removed the screen, or you may have knock one of the tiny sensors out of the MAF when you were working on your car, etc......

I would check the MAF first........or does someone read the code to mean something else?

im just really confused about the code, i have done many searches and i keep getting different probabilities for the code.

If someone could chime in and set me straight as to what the problem is and how i go about solving it, i would really appreciate it.

thankx

Are you sure about that code? My 2001 service manual shows no P0104 but does show a P0140 which has to do with the HO2S voltage not changing when expected to. Perhaps this is different for 1999.

It has to do with your MAF....contact GM to doublke check, but I am pretty positive it does.

I would reset the code and see if it stays gone.

BTW,
Have you messed with the MAF in anyway lately? Do you have a dry nitrous system?

Try this link. BTW, P0104 doesn't show up for the 99 as a valid code. P0101-103 are MAF codes, P0140 would be this: DTC P0140 HO2S Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 1 Sensor 2

Find out which one it is, then work from there.

Hmmm...My manual doesn't even have a P0104 code, but all the codes before it relate to MAF:

DTC P0101
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Performance

DTC P0102
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit Low Frequency

DTC P0103
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit High Frequency

Had the same code a month ago. I reset it and have not seen it since. I hear false codes are not that uncommon with C5's.

I'd reset the code. If it keeps coming back, then I'd start to worry a little.

Later, Keith :flag

I believe Bank 1 is your pre-cat sensors. You may have a bad wire, or the headers may have scrorched it, giving you the fault. I would start with a wire check 1st.

I had that code set on my Coupe when I hit a hard bump in the road.....like a wire was a bit loose and got jarred for a second. It set the check engine light, and when I got to work I checked the codes, reset it, and it never showed up again....
