Re: Maybe I've gone too far this time! (Andy@AandACorvette)
This will actually work. The procharger feeds down and to the left. The Vortech feeds down and to the right. A simple "Y" will let them feed into the ATI "Y" pipe. It then splits and goes around the radiator into the two intercoolers and back up into the MAF and throttlebody. The center air bridge is on the pressurized side and feeds the engine. The other two air bridges feed both the blowers. All three air bridges are fully functional. Total boost could be about 12lbs but each blower won't have to spin that fast to make it. The belts all line up. The serpentine runs the Procharger and a jackshaft, which in turn runs the Vortech. Two Vortech bypass valves would be needed. There may be room for a third intercooler in the middle instead of the "y" pipe that connects the two intercoolers now. It requires the radiators to be relocated and laid down , but I do that on all my Procharger installs anyway.
I started this as a joke, but I think it will work. I'm seriously thinking about doing it on my car. Maybe I'm just sick. Seems like superchargers are taking over my life! HELP!!
With a forged bottom end, O-ringed heads, and 8:1 compression, it could work. But like someone mentioned, where are you going to put the alternator?
Andy, that is so 1980's man! Passe! Get with the 21's century!
What you need to be working on man is a large single turbo intercooled system which doesn't make boost till stratospheric rev's.
Now, to get power low during low turbo boost installation, put a small supercharger on it with an A/C clutch that disengages at a specified RPM range (like the C5 A/C clutch) to reduce parasitic loss. Also you might need a way to seal off that plumbing for the SC off boost conditions...
Re: Maybe I've gone too far this time! (Andy@AandACorvette)
The idea is absolute genius!
And if I had to guess, it probably took a bit of Absolute to come up with the idea? ;)
on a serious note... since you seem to be installing the Vortech, can't wait to hear your impressions on the kit in future posts.... quality of components, completeness of kit, fit and assembly issues, etc.
Re: Maybe I've gone too far this time! (SilverStar)
My guess it probalby took a little bit of Jose Cuervo.
Andy try getting the Magnusson on there...and then maybe the Cerra Turbo too...but that might be pushing it.
