Re: Maybe I've gone too far this time! (Drop_Top_Dave)
A Vortec on one side, and a Procharger on the other. Interesting. If it all get plumbed up that would be a boost monster... Also, you could keep the boost down on each with smaller pulleys, so no slippage. If they come into a common I/C then that would be quite a novel approach....
I am going to guess you did this just for the photo, you aren't really going to run it are you?
This will actually work. The procharger feeds down and to the left. The Vortech feeds down and to the right. A simple "Y" will let them feed into the ATI "Y" pipe. It then splits and goes around the radiator into the two intercoolers and back up into the MAF and throttlebody. The center air bridge is on the pressurized side and feeds the engine. The other two air bridges feed both the blowers. All three air bridges are fully functional. Total boost could be about 12lbs but each blower won't have to spin that fast to make it. The belts all line up. The serpentine runs the Procharger and a jackshaft, which in turn runs the Vortech. Two Vortech bypass valves would be needed. There may be room for a third intercooler in the middle instead of the "y" pipe that connects the two intercoolers now. It requires the radiators to be relocated and laid down , but I do that on all my Procharger installs anyway.
I started this as a joke, but I think it will work. I'm seriously thinking about doing it on my car. Maybe I'm just sick. Seems like superchargers are taking over my life! HELP!!
Awww heck Andy just use the Pro Charger mini coolers that are located up front to get more charge air cooling.
Heck, I say go for it. You should be able to run each kit a 5psi and get the equivilant of about 10psi of boost with less heating of the incoming charge air. Remeber boost is a measurement of restriction in the system. I think this will allow you to run the blowers at much lower pressure levels and much less rpm on each of them, while making the same power.
Keep us posted on the madness.
Just remember Jnation was at 720 w/ 10psi on his z06. So, now you have a number to shoot for.
