Default Battery issues

I am hoping someone can help me out with a battery issue I am having with my 98 C5. I had an Optima yellow top, which was fine when I began an engine swap (LS1 to LS3). After finishing up everything, it was completely dead so, I figured it was just coincidence. I purchased a new Red Top, and with 3 days it was also dead. Doing the negative terminal amp test revealed that there was a constant draw of just over 1 amp. Along with the amp draw was a constant clicking, which appears to be my headlight motors trying to open. Pulling either #3 or #4 fuse (left or right headlight motor), unplugging the harness going to the headlight motors, or switching the light switch from off to either parking , or full headlights, brings the draw down to 0.09 amps, and stops the headlights from trying to rise. Once I touch the probes back to the battery, the draw, and headlights attempting to open, starts all over again. I know that the headlight modules are a common draw but, I read in this forum that if the module was bad, that it would be warm, which it is not. Anyone with any ideas would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know how those aftermarket modules perform? They are quite a bit less expensive than GM modules.
