Default Tech/tune

I’m placing this here hopping to get some more viewers. Simple question, I’ve got a new built motor I’m having a base tune done on and have been having an issue starting. I’ve got a good tuner but looking some other input. I did notice, not sure if it’s coincidence or not but it seems that the car will fire on the turn of a key once then the next time you’ll have to crank it, then it will start at the turn of o key then the next time you have to crank it? Does this make any sense? Doesn’t to me..

Did the tuner do a Crank angle sensor relean with the new engine?

IS fuel pressure correct all of the time . When it doesn't start at first key turn, does it take some time to build fuel pressure?? Does you fuel pressure drop right off at engine off or does it hold properly??

Usually an extended crank issue is caused by fuel drain back because the check valve in the line goes bad. Give that a look see.

My guess, your tune needs more adjustments. It could be cranking spark or RAF tables or both needs to be adjusted for vary temperature ranges. I know when I tune mine this was more time consuming due to the engine needs cool down to verify.

not if it won't start consistently. A lot of tuners do WOT well, but for some reason leave the starting/driveability portion 'good enough'. I'm no pro but understand it's a lot of work and can be quite complex.
