to get any help on this you need to get all dtc's and list them here.
if you don't know how to retrieve trouble codes watch this short vid. include the h and/or c after each code. once you give us the codes it can help narrow down what the issue might be
Yeah, if the C1214 H C ("Sol Valve Relay Contact or Coil CKT Open") pertains to the ebcm, I guess that would make sense since he told me that he's been seeing the ABS and Traction Control faults for a while. Yes, I thought I read that the "C" after that fault means "current".
If it’s the ebcm which it sounds like it is, absfixer.com can fix it for $150. Mine is there now. Had the same 1214 code abs, tc, active handling. I didn’t have the ***** to solder it myself.
Ah, that's good to know. Yes, I've heard of them. Correct me if I'm wrong....but I also saw a couple of Vendors who claim to be able to rebuild the 1997-2000 ebcm, albeit for a bit more money....ranging from $280 to around $500. One goes by the company name ASI and the other is automotivemodules.com.
Well....I haven't bought it yet....and I've seen some nicer "older" Vettes near by (with lower miles), that might be a bit more in line with my budget. So, I'm trying to gain as much background knowledge as I can. I thank you for all your input! Let me know how absfixer.com does with your unit. Seems like they've got a good thing going.
Yeah....I know. Believe it or not.....this would be my 15th Corvette (lifetime), if I can possibly manage to get one again. Economics are not it my favor these days, however.
