Camera wiring

Where can the reverse camera on wire be tapped into besides the reverse light? Mine was on the car when I got it and has the display in the mirror, so when I unlock the doors at night the mirror display comes on.

Connecting it to anything but the reverse light would defeat the purpose of it being a backup camera wouldn't it? You could connect it to the taillights but again it would only work when the lights are on, not when you're in reverse. When do you want it to come on?

He is asking to know if it is possible to only have the transmission in reverse activate the camera. Wired to the reverse lights it comes on every time the reverse lights come on, like when unlocking the car (courtesy lights?).

Understood but I believe it's all one circuit. He could possibly put in a toggle on the mirror wiring at the mirror to only let it come on when the switch is on. I have a similar camera and the feed is from the reverse light at the reverse light.

He can do that without having to install an extra toggle switch by tapping the "Grey" wire between the Reverse Switch and Relay 38, instead of the "Light Green" wire at the reverse lightbulb sockets. See schematics below
