On my 2002 c5, I’m trying to install the torque tube after a rebuild and I’m having a problem getting the prop shaft to go fully into the splined opening on the fly wheel. I can get it started, but I cannot get it to go in the last 2 inches. Any suggestions on how to get it to go all the way in ?
Check to make sure there is nothing caught between the TT housing and the engine on the top. I almost got the wiring harness caught when I did mine but it was much closer. Good Luck.
Thanks, I'll check for for an obstruction. How much force is required to get it in ? Should it slide in easily, or did you have push hard from the back of the transaxle ?
From what I remember it wasn't that hard. Can you tell I the splines are lined up you might need to turn the shaft slightly to get them aligned. You also want to make sure the angle is correct and then it should slide in.
I would need to pull my service manual but from feeble memory I thought the auto had something that required loosening until all was set in place. If someone doesn't respond I will look for it.
